Winners announced!
The winners of the 2013 GE Awards have now been unveiled! The awards, hosted by Hal Cruttenden, were presented at the prestigious Grosvenor House Hotel, on London's Park Lane. With an audience of over 450 leaders in geotechnical engineering consultancy and contracting, these awards brought together the key players in the industry alongside the ones to watch. Claire Symes, editor of GE magazine commented: "The high number and quality of entries this year underlines the fact that UK geotechnical professionals are at the forefront of some of the country's leading infrastructure developments and we are here today to celebrate that success. Although it is too early to see the results of the geotechnical work on projects such as Crossrail, the second Forth Road Crossing, the Mersey Gateway and Thames Tideway in this year's shortlist, these projects are helping to give the UK geotechnics industry a much needed boost. However, I am aware that the market improvements seen so far are very much centred on London and the regions have yet to see significant improvement. The situation is still very tough in some areas. Nonetheless, this year's GE Awards finalists and winners have each demonstrated that investment in excellence does still reap rewards both in the short and long term for their business and their clients businesses." Congratulations once again to this year's winners and finalists, who are demonstrating that they are leading the way in the industry.
